What is a middle-man? A middle-man is a website which claims to be a dropshipper, however in reality they are not the actual dropshipper, they take your order and pass it on to the real dropshipper adding their own profit margins in the process. This may not be illegal but it is bad for the dropship industry because of the squeezed profit margins and problems that occur.

What is a Scam? This is when a website just takes your money and runs. This is illegal and it is important you avoid falling for a scam.

Before ordering with any dropshipper (or paying a joining fee) you want to try and find out as much info as possible. You can do this by typing the companys name into Google and seeing what comes up, or by visiting a dropship/wholesale forum and posting a message to see what others have experienced.

Now you can add one more resource to your business arsenal! DropKicker.org is a free dropship review website where you find comments and reviews about many dropshippers. Ironically I only found out about the website because the DropKicker owner, Trent, contacted me to tell me about an error on my blog!

When people first learn about dropshipping they often think “Great Ill just find a dropshipper of Nintendo Wii’s and sell bucket loads”, unfortunately it isn’t that easy!

Due to such high demand for products like this the manufacturers sell the products to companies like Dixons, Tesco, Game etc. This makes it much easier for the manufacturers. Because they don’t pass any on to wholesalers it is incredibly difficult for dropshippers to get hold of them, even if they can the profit margin can be squeezed so much it’s not worth your time as the seller.
